Mel would not want any of us to suffer because he has moved on. But it would be unusual to not grieve for the loss of a dear friend, brother, lover.
I have been grieving intensely for some time, but I am healing. I found my support in family, friends, and the Centre for Living with Dying.
It is the "missing" that hurts so much now. I miss Mel constantly. But I know that he is gone, and that he is not coming back. Wishing for him to return is natural, but a waste of energy.
There really is no "right" way to feel when grieving. Its best to just go with the flow. Don't be afraid to cry, or talk, or stomp. Talking about it helps a great deal. If you want to talk to me, please call me at 408.875.4808 days, or 408.370.0151 evenings.
The Centre for Living with Dying is very helpful. Call 408.980.9801
